Just a little foil finger painting . . . so much fun and such a great way to explore different textures.
Madeline had high expectations for life as a three year old, as you might recall. I am happy to report that seven months past her birthday, she has accomplished only one of the items on her list. Hint: It wasn't having a baby.
Don't be fooled into thinking she hasn't made any progress this year, though. For one thing, she learned to read. Apparently along with the reading skills has come a major shift in her worldviews, because lately she has taken to telling me everything she used to think back when she was two. You know, when she was just a young whippersnapper who didn't know how the world worked. These nuggets of wisdom always come out of the blue and are completely outlandish. My recent favorites:
"Mommy, when I was two, I thought that baby dolls were real babies that had died."
"Mommy, when I was two, I thought you washed the dishes in the toilet."
Hint: I didn't.

Oh my gosh. This is hilarious! The baby dolls are kind of morbid...
Holy cow! You have a little wunderkind on your hands. :)
lol Man, that girl is a riot.
I want to hear more words of wisdom. That girl is a real card!
That was Momma Jane. But Kristen agrees we need more.
That is really funny! Way to go Madeline! Rosie still just calls me her poopy when she wants to be funny. So, kind of the same level of intelligence, right?
I love the finger-painting picture. I also want to know what made her think you washed dishes in the toilet . . . From the ages of 3 to 5, according to Josh, EVERYTHING happened when he was two. He said when I was two so much it was hilarious.
totally laughed out loud at this. very, very funny (and disturbing?) world view as a 2 year old. So glad she has grown out of that. :)
Ha ha. I think these comments reflect more on her imagination as a three-year-old than her actual views as a two-year-old . . . either way very off the wall. :)
