Changes Are Keeping Me Hopping
I was looking at recent visitors to my blog, and I have to say, I'm glad that my German friends still have faith that I will check in once in a while. I really enjoy writing about our happenings, but lately there have been so many happenings that I've had a hard time making the blogging part a priority. Two major things have changed since I last wrote, and these things have kept me especially busy:
1. We moved.
2. I got a part-time job.
Yes, we moved. Just around the corner to another rental, so nothing too dramatic in terms of our overall life but something that has still required an enormous amount of time, both in the old place and the new. Over the summer we tried really hard to find a place to buy, but nothing was working out that we felt good about. Rather than force the issue, we decided to take a short break from the hunting and find a temporary place to rest our heads. I am currently drowning in a sea of boxes and my children are able to create new messes much faster than I can get things put away. I am determined to get this all done quickly, however, because Miss Baby is less than six weeks away from arriving! And I just can't handle the idea of still settling in while we've got a new baby.
As for the job, it's an editing position that pretty much fell into my lap a while back. It's a great fit for me because I am working exclusively from home and only need to work about ten hours a week. That's the theory, anyway. Recently there has been a lot of extra work to be done, plus I've been training and am still slower than I will be in the short future, so I've been working a lot of long hours. Despite the inevitable sleep deprivation this leads to (because come on, how else would I find ten extra hours every week?), I am really enjoying the work and I'm so happy to be involved with it. What can I say? I'm an editor; I like to edit. Also, it gives me a reason to sit down when I have overworked myself from moving around too many boxes and pieces of furniture. (Not that I couldn't find plenty of good books to read or naps to take if left to my own devices.)
So there you go. A teensy tiny bit about what is happening in our lives right now.

Thanks for the update! I cannot believe how big the kiddies are getting. I'm looking forward to pictures of Miss Baby:).
I LOVE you!!! Can you send me your new address?
I'm so impressed you squeezed in time for an update in the midst of all you have going on. Amazing indeed.
Does the new house mean you finally are rid of the uncatchable mouse?
Sarah, you amazing thing, you! I can't believe you're able to do a job too! You are Wonder Woman. I hope you're miraculously recovering kind of fast!
